ASHBURN, Va. – The Washington Redskins announced today that they have hired Ike Hilliard as the team’s Wide Receivers Coach. In addition, the team announced that Bob Slowik will move to Linebackers Coach after having coached the team’s secondary for the past two seasons.
Hilliard, 35, joins the Redskins with 13 seasons of NFL experience, including 12 seasons as a wide receiver. Last season, he served as the assistant wide receivers coach for the Miami Dolphins after two seasons coaching for the Florida Tuskers of the United Football League. Hilliard worked as a volunteer coach with the Tuskers in 2009 under current Redskins Defensive Coordinator Jim Haslett, who served as the team’s head coach. Hilliard was elevated to the position of Receivers Coach for 2010.
