The ping pong balls have fallen and the draft order has been determined. As history has taught us, this event has proven pivotal to many a team's fortunes over the years. Management and coaching careers have been forged. Playoff appearances and titles have been the reward for teams with a game changing selection at the top spot that's based in large part on luck. History has also taught us that the top selection can be a blessing and a curse and while a good pick at No. 1 can bring immense rewards for years, a bad pick can do just the opposite.
Spectacular examples include Orlando's selection of Shaquille O'Neal in 92, San Antonio's selection of Tim Duncan in 97, and Cleveland's pick of LeBron James in 03. Each player paid significant dividends for their prospective franchises in victories, playoff appearances, titles, and fan goodwill. Unfortunately their have been some major missteps and subsequent failures (Sam Bowie in 84, Michael Olowokadi in 98, and Kwame Brown 2001, which ultimately cost Michael Jordan his job with the Wizards).
I had the opportunity to speak with an NBA insider about the top draft prospects as he broke down each players strengths and weaknesses and I got his take on this year's top player.

The Dime Piece: LeBron James. Should He Stay or Should He Go? |

The Cleveland Cavaliers, sporting the best record in the NBA this year, have been exposed. It's apparent that LeBron's supporting cast can't handle the pressure and the intensity of playoff basketball along with the brilliance of Celtics coach Doc Rivers as he motivates his veterans and arranges his balanced pieces on the chessboard in a quest for a checkmate.
The city of Cleveland should pray to the almighty God that the King returns but it could be too little too late.

For Sean Broadus, like many entreprenuers, the inspiration to start a company spawned from the sheer love of his trade. Broadus has a bigger vision for Valmara Video Productions however and as he says, "This is only the beginning."

The Vegas Connect: Mayweather vs. Mosley: "Never any doubts" |

It's in the books and while the official pay-per-view buys aren't in as of this post, it's quite evident that "Money" Mayweather is boxing and boxing is "Money" Mayweather. As far as superstar status in the boxing game, Mayweather rules with no peer on the horizon including Pacquiao. Pacquiao now needs Mayweather and not the other way around.
Mayweather is the don dada, the king of the boxing world and as my source, a major player in Vegas let me in on, Money's camp knew it would be an easy night. For Shane Mosley, who ate so much leather you would think he was a Louis Vuitton bag, this would prove profound.
