The Hoyas improve to 2-0 this season, while UNC Greensboro falls to 0-2.

Thompson connected on 7-of-10 shots from the floor, including 5-of-6 from three-point land, and grabbed four rebounds to lead the Hoyas, who had 10 players score at least one point.

The Hoyas jumped out to a 25-point halftime lead, 41-16, thanks to the combined efforts off Thompson and Clark, who combined for 30 points in the first half (Clark 17, Thompson 13). Georgetown took a 7-0 lead after a three and a layup from Thompson and a layup from Clark. The Spartans missed their first five shots and three turnovers before a basket from Derrell Armstrong put the visitors on the board 3:54 into the game.

Georgetown struggled from the field, but free throws from sophomore forward Nate Lubick (Southborough, Mass./St. Mark’s) made it 21-6 with 9:34 to play in the half and the lead was 18 points, 26-8, on a jumper from Clark with 7:13 to play. A pair of free throws from Sims gave the Hoyas a 41-16 lead at the break.
