WASHINGTON, D.C. (www.howard-bison.com) - Soccer is back and Howard University head women’s soccer coach Brent Leiba, who was the 2009-10 Great West Conference Coach of the Year, is ready to kick-off the season with a weekend series at Radford on Friday, Aug. 17 (7:00 p.m.) and a home-opener against Lafayette on Sunday, Aug. 19 (1:00 p.m.).

Charlottesville, Va. – The Howard women's basketball team dropped a 59-56 decision to the Univ. of Virginia in first round action of the WNIT. The Lady Bison will end the 2011-12 campaign with a 24-9 mark – tying the program's record for most wins in a single season. The game also marks the first post-season bid for HU since 2001.

DOVER, DEL. – Tamoria Holmes join teammates Saadia Doyle and Zykia Brown in the elite 1,000th point club as Howard (22-7, 14-2 MEAC) defeated Delaware State 67-52 in its regular season finale. The victory gives the Lady Bison the most wins in a season since 1997-98 when they went 23-7.

Baltimore, M.D--- February 18 --- Tamoria Holmes hit a three pointer in the last six seconds of regulation to secure a 50-49 victory for Howard (20-7, 12-2 MEAC) in an exciting MEAC matchup against Coppin State (15-11, 10-3 MEAC). This marks the first 20-win season for the Lady Bison since the 2000-01 campaign when the team went 21-10 under head coach Cathy Parson.

Baltimore, Md. ---February 6--- The Howard Women's Basketball team (17-7 overall, 9-2 MEAC) finished the game shooting 11-for-15 (73.3 percent) from the charity-stripe to take down the Morgan State Bears, 64-55. HU changed its offense to an inside-outside game after going an entire first-half without touching the free-throw line and shooting 2-of-10 (20 percent) from behind the arc.
