Tigers to Raise Awareness about Sexual Assault

 TOWSON, Md. – Members of the Towson University Department of Athletics will participate in the “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” event to take place on campus on Wednesday, April 20 at noon. The “Walk a Mile” event invites men to walk a mile in a pair of women’s shoes to raise awareness about sexualized violence to women.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

 Individuals from the athletic department participating in the walk include Director of Athletics Mike Waddell, members of the football coaching staff and team, men’s soccer coach Frank Olszewski and the men’s soccer team, the women’s soccer coaches, members of the men’s golf team, the volleyball coaches, women’s track and field coach Roger Erricker and other members of the Department of Athletics.

 The event begins at 11:30 a.m. with registration at the Potomac Patio of the University Union. There will be a pair of opening speakers at noon before the walk begins at 12:15 p.m.
