"Terps Ready To Make Some Noise" PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 26 August 2009 14:51
In sports there is the common fact that if you have a great offense you will be able to fill the stadium, and pack the house. That is exactly what the Maryland Terrapins have going into the 2009 season, a highly potent offense with many valuable weapons that can strike at any given moment in a game. I mean sure the team did lose No. 7 overall pick Darrius Heyward-Bey to the NFL Draft last season, but the offense does have some key players back. Last season the Terps' offense ranked third in the ACC with 350.7 yards per game.

Tailback Da'Rel Scott had a huge coming out party last season in just his sophomore campaign as he rushed for 1,133 yards. He will be joined in a very explosive backfield this year with Davin Meggett, and combined they should form one of the ACC's elite tandems.

Preparing to get the defense back on track is former Massachusetts head coach Don Brown. He will have great help in starting linebacker, and returning second-team All-ACC pick Alex Wujciak. Adrian Moten will start at strong side linebacker, with Demetrius Hartsfield on the weak side.
