Greivis Vasquez was selected 28th by Memphis Grizzlies in the 2010 NBA draft last night. In the process, Vasquez, a native of Caracas, Venezuela became the first Terrapin since Chris Wilcox and Juan Dixon in 2002 to get drafted in the first round.
Vasquez led Maryland to the NCAA Tournament three of his four years as a starter. Vasquez averaged over 19 points and 6 assist over his career at Maryland. According to several reports Vasquez's stock rose significantly due to impressive workouts with several teams.
