KENT, Ohio – Jennifer Sing broke her own pole vault school record once again, and VMI posted two competitors in the top-10 of the men’s long jump as the Keydet track and field programs competed at the Golden Flash Gala, hosted by Kent State in Kent, Ohio.
Sing cleared 3.80 meters (12’5 ½”) to finish fourth in the competition, and break the school record for the second time in two meets this season. The effort ties her lifetime best, set at the Radford Invitational last outdoor season, and marks the eighth straight meet at which she has cleared the 12-foot mark. She remains the only woman in VMI history to do so.
In the men’s long jump, Antonio Wood led the way with a fourth-place finish. Wood, coming off of a personal best in the heptathlon last weekend, posted a leap of 6.78 meters (22’3”), while teammate Nate Gant was ninth with a 6.53 meter effort (21’5 ¼”). |
