VCU COMPLETES FOURTH CAA SERIES SWEEP WITH 10-6 WIN AT GEORGE MASON PDF Print E-mail

FAIRFAX, Va. – Virginia Commonwealth University completed its fourth Colonial Athletic Association series sweep of the season, including its first ever at George Mason University, following a 10-6 victory against the Patriots Sunday afternoon at Spuhler Field.

Fairfax, VA—George Mason’s Mike Morrison ran onto the court frantically; chest bumping Dre Smith and John Vaughan at center court. Redshirt freshmen Kevin Foster, wearing his team warm up suit, ran onto the court pumping his hands in the air as the crowd at Patriot Center screamed in celebration.

     The Patriots earned their second one point victory of the season of Drexel University, this time 49-48, by again fending off a potential last second game winning shot.

    In sports there is the common fact that if you have a great offense you will be able to fill the stadium, and pack the house. That is exactly what the Maryland Terrapins have going into the 2009 season, a highly potent offense with many valuable weapons that can strike at any given moment in a game. I mean sure the team did lose No. 7 overall pick Darrius Heyward-Bey to the NFL Draft last season, but the offense does have some key players back. Last season the Terps' offense ranked third in the ACC with 350.7 yards per game.

RICHMOND, Va. – Senior Eric Maynor (Raeford, N.C.) made a little history and then vaulted Virginia Commonwealth University past George Mason, 76-71, before a standing-room-only audience of 7,594 Saturday at the Stuart C. Siegel Center.

Demetrius "El Prezidino" Doss, former wide receiver for the Marshall University Thundering Herd is set to drop a digital release album this weekend before his first major debut project this fall.  Doss, who goes by the stage name "El Prezidino" talked to me about his release, his ties to the Marshall University community, his burgeoning career, his future amibitions, the music industry and what consumers are to expect from him in the forseeable future.
