Louisville vs. Georgetown this Saturday could be one of the most exciting games of the college basketball season. The Hoyas will need to execute their gameplan and play great defense in order to slow down a running Louisville team. DCMetrosports will join close to 16,000 others in the phonebooth to witness the game in person.

“The Blessed and The Skilled Athlete”

              It is a privilege to be a professional athlete and everyone- perhaps- would like or love to be one, even if it’s just for one year.  Athletes travel, have lots of things catered to them, have fame, and make a boat load of money- especially the good ones.  Among the athletes, there’s a difference.  Some professional athletes are amazed by what other athletes are able to do, which brings us to this question; what makes a great athlete different from an average athlete?  Is it their shoe size, arm span, vision, or will?  It could be a number of things, but there is another question or thought that people have about the “talent” certain athletes.  Is their talent God-given or just great skill?

DCMS Blog: The DeMatha Stags: Not the only game in town anymore.

 I had the opportunity to attend the WCAC Playoff game last Sunday and admittedly was scouting some players Van Johnson of GamePlan Sports was giving me the low down on. Van mentioned names like O'Connell's Jason Clark, who has committed to Georgetown, and Kendall Marshall, who has already committed to North Carolina as a sophomore.  More on him later.  I also wanted to catch a glimpse of Max Kenyi, and highly touted sophomore point guard Tyler Thornton.

DCMS Blog: NBA All Star Weekend. The Birthday Cake

 The highlight of my weekend was the NBA All Star dunk contest.  Forget the game, the game was boring, but did anyone see Gerald Green's  Birthday Cake dunk?  Granted, Dwight Howard's Superman throw in was special but really the Birthday Cake was the best dunk.
