A team with three all-star players, it seems to be no room for another star. But there’s a star, 20 points-a-night player waiting to happen in the Washington Wizards’ mist. Rookie Guard Nick Young, a first-round draft pick (16th overall) from USC, have shown Wizards’ fans lately on a consistence bases what he can be.

Another sellout crowd and the emotions were high. I did my usual, ate, read my notes, the team’s notes, got some gum, and prayed I would not make a fool of myself.
I saw Etan Thomas and looked good, health wise, and was in good spirit. That’s a big dude by the way.

The North Carolina Tar Heels was down by seven points late in the game against the Clemson Tigers in the semifinals of the ACC tournament, then came back and won yesterday. Wizards’ all-star F Antawn Jamison (North Carolina alumnus) scored seven points with 9.7 seconds left in the game to force overtime against the Los Angeles Clippers last night-which led to a win. Jamison led all scorers with 36 points off 10 for 22 shooting, 11 rebounds and 7 assists to sweep the Clippers this season, 119-109.

TC Williams isn't a team I've been following all year. Word has it around town that the best basketball is played in the Catholic School leagues. Media people say Northern Va basketball is not pretty to watch, hence the AAA Boys state champions usually come from the Richmond or Tidewater area. It's been 27 years since a Northern Region team won the state title. That was the buzzword.

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. The Maryland Terps, 2002 national champions have fallen off big time. The basketball tide has since shifted to the hilltop where the Hoyas now reign as the golden boys of basketball in the DC area but it doesn't have to be that way. The Big Dance? I don't think so this year.
