Drager to Miss1 Rest of Sseason

    BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech true freshman Chris Drager will miss the remainder of the season, as announced Sunday by director of athletic training Mike Goforth. Drager, a tight end from Jefferson Hills, Pa., underwent an MRI on Sunday morning, revealing a sprained MCL and a partially torn ACL of his right knee. He suffered the injury midway through the third quarter of Tech's win over William & Mary Saturday.

Beamer Announces Quarterback Change Tyrod Taylor to Start Saturday vs. Ohio

       BLACKSBURG, Va. - Virginia Tech head football coach Frank Beamer announced Monday during his teleconference that true freshman Tyrod Taylor will get the start at quarterback this Saturday in Tech's home game against Ohio University.

2007 College Football: Virginia Tech's Tyrod Taylor Shines in National TV Debut

    True freshmen Tyrod Taylor from Hampton, VA made his national TV debut in Baton Rouge, Louisiana against powerhouse LSU Tigers defense and immediately paid dividends for the Hokies. Taylor, entered the game at the six minute mark of the second quarter after Sean Glennon was rendered ineffective by the fast and powerful LSU Tiger defense. Despite the work of Taylor, Tech loss the game 48-7.

2007 College Football: Virginia Tech Freshman Tyrod Taylor Looks Good Early

      Tyrod Taylor (Hampton High School) rated one of the top dual threat quarterbacks in the nation last year has been looking very promising according to reports out of Blacksburg, Va. Taylor has looked so good in fact that the coaching staff is considering whether or not to redshirt him this year.
