2007 College Football: Hokies Can't Stop Destiny; Drop Last Minute Shocker to BC

     Maybe you do or maybe you don't believe in destiny.  Destiny is a course of events to
happen beyond one's control. The events could lead to stardom or failure but either way, one or the other is bound to happen. Thursday night the Virginia Tech Hokies couldn't stop the destiny of a star in Boston College quarterback Matt Ryan.   Ryan cemented his Heisman Trophy in Blacksburg, VA on national television with an furious late fourth quarter comeback to defeat Virginia Tech 14-10.

Tyrod Taylor Injury Update

 Virginia Tech head athletic trainer Mike Goforth:
 "We thought Tyrod was progressing quicker than expected, so we actually went ahead and took the cast off on Thursday. He's been jogging in the underwater treadmill and is progressing very quickly through his rehab to the point we felt we like we could put him out here in blue (limited work). He has a little bit of a soft cast on today around the brace for added stability, which is limiting his mobility, but it's strictly precautionary and he would not have to play in that. I'm cautiously optimistic about his chances of playing Thursday. I think he's doing great."

Hall to Undergo Surgery

   BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech starting linebacker and leading tackler Vince Hall will undergo surgery for a broken left wrist Sunday evening at Montgomery Regional Hospital and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks, according to head athletic trainer Mike Goforth.

Whitaker Will Not Travel This Week

Drager to Miss1 Rest of Sseason

    BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech true freshman Chris Drager will miss the remainder of the season, as announced Sunday by director of athletic training Mike Goforth. Drager, a tight end from Jefferson Hills, Pa., underwent an MRI on Sunday morning, revealing a sprained MCL and a partially torn ACL of his right knee. He suffered the injury midway through the third quarter of Tech's win over William & Mary Saturday.
