VT Turns to Glennon at QB

BLACKSBURG, Va. - Virginia Tech football coach Frank Beamer announced Sunday that redshirt sophomore Sean Glennon will be the Hokies' starting quarterback when Tech opens its season on Sept. 2 against Northeastern at Lane Stadium/Worsham Field.

BLACKSBURG- The Virginia Tech football team held its first practice of the fall Friday afternoon in the heat and on the practice fields behind the Jamerson Athletic Center as the Hokies begin preparations for their Sept. 2 opener against Northeastern.

Hokies open camp without Minor

BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech cornerback Roland Minor will miss a minimum of six to eight weeks, according to head athletic trainer Mike Goforth, for a wrist injury and a knee injury sustained in a car wreck in his hometown of Washington, D.C., earlier this week.

ACC Basketball: Midseason Report

Before the basketball season began, I wrote an article on the new ACC.  The 12 team league looked to be by far the most dominant conference in basketball.  With all of its usual powerhouses returning to greatness, I expected this storied league to remain a unanimous choice as the best conference in college basketball.  Looks like I was wrong.
