New York, N.Y. – The Georgetown University men’s basketball team earned an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament and will play Northern Iowa on Friday, March 17 at the University of Dayton Arena in Ohio. The Hoyas earned the No. 7 seed, while the Panthers, an at-large selection from the Missouri Valley Conference, were seeded 10th. |

Syracuse Comeback Ends Georgetown’s Run in BIG EAST Tourney, 58-57 |

New York, N.Y. – Syracuse came back from a 15-point halftime deficit and senior guard Gerry McNamara hit four three-pointers in the second half, leading the Orange to an upset 58-57 win over Georgetown at Madison Square Garden Friday night. The loss leaves the Hoyas with a 21-9 overall record as they await NCAA Tournament selections on Sunday, March 12. Syracuse, the ninth seed in the tournament, improves to 22-11 overall.

Washington, D.C. – The Georgetown University men’s basketball team maintained its spot among the top-25 teams in the country in a pair of national polls released on Monday as the regular season came to a close. Georgetown is ranked 23rd in the country in the latest ESPN/USA Today Top 25 Coaches’ poll and are also tabbed at No. 23 in the Associated Press poll. |
