foes on Thursday night in Morgantown. The meeting showcases some of the nation’s
best talent and if the last two games between the two were any indication, fans

Every college football team starts out the season with one
goal: National Championship. Obviously
only two teams can play for that accomplishment, and only one can claim it, and
after nine weeks of the college football season, only a handful remain in the
chase. One of those teams is the West
Virginia Mountaineers.

Mountaineers Out Duel Knights |

The West Virginia Mountaineers made a statement to the Big
East, and the rest of the country on Saturday by completely dominating the
Rutgers Scarlet Knights 31-3. Rutgers never got going on a wet day that saw Pat White
and Steve Slaton overshadow the Knights duo of Teel and Rice.

In recent years the match-up between West
Virginia and Rutgers has been
relatively unimportant and equally unexciting.
The game often resulted in a few chuckles, a halftime visit to the
grocery store, and a fourth quarter nap in preparation for the college games
that followed later in the day. That was
all true, until last season. Greg
Schiano dug Rutgers out from their college
football grave and made them into a competitive conference foe. Last season’s three overtime thriller between
the Mountaineers and Scarlet Knights culminated by an eventual Mountaineer
victory will go down in history as one the most exciting contests ever played
at Mountaineer field. This Saturday’s
game should be no different.

this season, West Virginia
trounced the upset minded Mississippi State Bulldogs 38-13.
