HOWARD DROPS VMI 3-1, PICKS UP FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON

WASHINGTON, D.C. Lemuel Lyons, Rodino Wright and Brian Cunningham each picked up goals as the Howard men's soccer team dropped VMI 3-1 in a matchup Wednesday evening at Greene Stadium. The win gave the Bison its first victory of the season.


"I think everyone finally started executing tonight," said head coach Michael Lawrence. "I thought that we played well tonight and it shows with three goals scored, which resulted in a win."

BALTIMORE, MD. - The Lady Bison volleyball team extended its win streak to four matches on Tuesday when they swept Loyola (Md.)  3-0 (26-24, 26-24, 25-23) in a non-conference matchup in Baltimore.

WOMEN' S BASKETBALL SCHEDULE RELEASED FOR 2008-09 SEASON

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- A total of 12 non-conference games, including home contests against local foes Navy and George Mason, along with a challenging MEAC lineup highlight the 2008-09 Howard women's basketball schedule.


"We are extremely excited about the 2008-09 schedule," said head coach Niki Reid Geckeler, who is beginning her first season at the helm of the Bison women's program. "The 12 non-conference games provide us with the type of competition we need to prepare for an extremely tough MEAC schedule."
