WASHINGTON, DC — George Washington University men’s basketball head coach Karl Hobbs announced today that he plans to remain at the school and was never a candidate for the head coach position at Providence College. The announcement comes amid speculation by some media outlets that Hobbs is under consideration to replace former PC coach Tim Welsh.

All together now, ”the line is my friend, the line is my friend”. That was the vibe last night at The Smith Center as George Washington showed the 3,129 attendees that free-throws can change the game. GW shot 33.3 percent from the field off 16 for 48 shooting and 0 for 12 from three-point land. But GW was true to form as they shot 87.1 percent from the line. GW had seven attempts from the line in the 1st half, but the 2nd half- they visited the line twenty-four times proving to be the different maker for the victory over the hot Richmond Spiders (14-11, 7-5
A-10), 59-53.
