Times Remain Tough for the Colonials

Heading into Wednesday night, George Washington won seven straight games against LaSalle and 16 of the last 19 overall.  LaSalle was winless in 11 tries at The Charles E. Smith Center . Unfortunately, it did not hold Wednesday and LaSalle (9-12,4-4 A-10) get their first win at The Smith Center and hand George Washington’s (5-13, 1-7 A-10) their seventh straight loss.

GW’s Rob Diggs Named A-10 Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA, PA George Washington’s Rob Diggs has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Week for men’s basketball the league office announced Sunday.  It marks the program’s first A-10 weekly honor this season and the first since Maureece Rice won Player of the Week on Jan. 7, 2007.

NINE FORMER COLONIALS ELECTED TO GW ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Membership in the George Washington University Athletic Hall of Fame will expand from 122 to 131 on Saturday, Feb. 9, when nine newly-elected members are inducted in ceremonies on campus at the City View Room, 1957 E St., NW.  A luncheon, followed by induction ceremonies, will begin at 12:30 p.m.

A-10 COMMISSIONER LINDA BRUNO ANNOUNCES RESIGNATION

      PHILADELPHIA, PA – Linda Bruno, the fourth commissioner in the history of the Atlantic 10 Conference, today announced her resignation, effective June 30, 2008. Bruno was named commissioner on June 14, 1994.
