All together now, ”the line is my friend, the line is my friend”.  That was the vibe last night at The Smith Center as George Washington showed the 3,129 attendees that free-throws can change the game.  GW shot 33.3 percent from the field off 16 for 48 shooting and 0 for 12 from three-point land.  But GW was true to form as they shot 87.1 percent from the line.  GW had seven attempts from the line in the 1^st half, but the 2^nd half- they visited the line twenty-four times proving to be the different maker for the victory over the hot Richmond Spiders (14-11, 7-5
A-10), 59-53.

Heading into Wednesday night, George Washington won seven straight games against LaSalle and 16 of the last 19 overall.  LaSalle was winless in 11 tries at The Charles E. Smith Center . Unfortunately, it did not hold Wednesday and LaSalle (9-12,4-4 A-10) get their first win at The Smith Center and hand George Washington’s (5-13, 1-7 A-10) their seventh straight loss.
