In the middle of The Shawshank Redemption, Brooks, the oldest inmate finally gets out on parole after spending his entire life in prison. When he’s on the outside, he says how much he misses Shawshank, because the world has changed so much and he had become so institutionalized that he can’t live without it.

Season on the Brink… Already?

Sometimes a player will make a routine cut on the court and his knee will give out and he’ll be done for the rest of the season. Don’t think that can’t happen to a team as well. As Chris DiIonno notes, Monday’s 78-70 loss to George Washington could very well be a season ending knee injury for the Maryland basketball team.

Maryland vs. Florida State

When I was flipping the channels to get to Florida-Georgia, I stopped briefly at the Maryland-Florida State for the score and ended up getting sucked in for the rest of the game. If the ACC was a Warner Brothers cartoon, Duke would be a giant boulder flung off a catapult and every other team would be Wild-E-Coyote holding up a sign that says, “Meep.”
