    Those in the know are familiar with the name "Big Game" Torry Holt, Pro Bowl Wide

Receiver for the St. Louis Rams of the NFL but there is another big name player coming to College Park, Maryland this fall.  His name is "Big Game" Torrey Smith; a dual threat athlete from Stafford County, Virginia recruited to play wide receiver for the Maryland Terrapins.

Terps Pay The Price In Rematch

      Some of you probably didn’t even know it was happening. Some of you probably didn’t even know it was on ESPN2. Some of you were probably too busy watching Sanjaya Malakar bring little girls to tears on American Idol. I, on the other hand was in shock, complete disbelief, on the verge of a basketball breakdown. With 1:26 remaining in the game, it began to sink in; it would be the last time I would see Maryland senior guard Shay Doron in a Terrapin uniform as she fouled out with nine points, four assists and two rebounds and the team she once carried on her back, would go on to fall to Mississippi 89-78 in the second round of the Women’s NCAA Tournament.

     I overheard a colleague of mine, a rabid Carolina Tar Heel fanatic boldly state, " There is nothing in the world greater than a Carolina win except a Duke loss!"  That statement inspired me, a totally neutral basketball fan of the game to pen this article.

Terps Mangle Wolfpack On Senior Day

      Usually I would call a guy with his uniform number cut in his hair a “bama”, but because it was DJ Strawberry and it was Senior Day, I gave him a get out of jail free card. Strawberry and the Maryland Terrapins practically did the electric slide on the hardwood of the Comcast Center as they defeated the North Carolina State Wolfpack 79-59 for the team’s final regular season game.
