Cavaliers’ right-hander once again a candidate for the prestigious award
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia junior right-handed pitcher Jacob Thompson has been named to the Roger Clemens Award Watch List. It marks the second year in a row that Thompson has been named to the initial Clemens Award watch list. Last season, he was one of three finalists for the award.

Cavs will face Georgia Tech or Miami
CHARLOTTESVILLE – The fourth-seeded and 25th-ranked Virginia women’s basketball team will face No. 5 Georgia Tech or No. 12 Miami Friday in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament. Tip-off from the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C., is 11 a.m., and the game will be televised on the ACC’s Regional Sports Network (Comcast SportsNet, FOX Sports South, NESN).

The Virginia High School state basketball playoff picture is coming into focus as both girls and boys teams battle to reach the quarterfinals in Richmond in two weeks.
The playoff times and locations are to be announced later this week.
