Sophomore earns honor for second time this season
CHARLOTTESVILLE – After averaging 24.5 points per game, hitting a game-winning shot in double-overtime and tallying her 1,000th-career point in two Cavalier victories, Virginia sophomore Monica Wright was named the ACC’s Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

UVa junior righthander earns first weekly honor from USA Baseball
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia junior right-handed pitcher Jacob Thompson has been named the Eye on the Golden Spikes Player of the Week by USA Baseball. The weekly national college baseball player of the week award is the first to be given out this year by USA Baseball in anticipation of the Golden Spikes Award to be awarded at the conclusion of the season.

Wright named to second team, Zoll and Littles third-team honorees
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Sophomore Monica Wright, senior Sharneé Zoll and juniors Lyndra Littles and Aisha Mohammed all earned All-ACC honors, the conference announced Monday. Wright was named to the second team, while Zoll and Littles were third-team honorees. Mohammed, meanwhile, earned honorable mention recognition.
