Washington, D.C.-The Washington Capitals opened 2008 the same way the closed out 2007, with a convincing win over the Ottawa Senators. Four days after edging the Senators 8-6 at
Scotiabank Place, Washington scored four goals in the first period, and one more early in the second as they overcame an early 2-0 deficit to beat the Senators for the third time in three tries, this time 6-3 at Verizon Center

2007 Redskins Update: Mo Romo? No Problem

           Dallas head coach Wade Phillips made the decision to start quarterback Tony Romo but that didn't help at all.  The Redskins defense shut down Romo and the Cowboys while the offense lead by resurgent stand-in quarterback Todd Collins sliced and diced their way down the field all day to a 27-6 victory.  The victory yesterday over the Dallas Cowboys propelled the Redskins into their first playoff appearance in two years.
