ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals have recalled left wing Quintin Laing from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today. Laing will join the Capitals in Carolina and will be poised to make his Capitals debut wearing No. 53 in tonight’s game at RBC Center (7 p.m., Comcast SportsNet, Talk Radio 3WT – 107.7 FM, 1500 AM, 820 AM).

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals will host the season’s first Kids Club Day on Saturday, Dec. 8, when the Atlanta Thrashers visit Verizon Center. The day is devoted entirely to kids, with special events and features geared toward young Caps fans. Face painting, clowns, jugglers, poster-making stations and photos with Caps mascot, Slapshot, are just a few of the exciting activities planned for all kids in attendance.

WASHINGTON, DC – Washington Wizards Owners Abe and Irene Pollin and the Washington Wizards organization will retire legendary Baltimore Bullet Earl Monroe’s uniform number 10. Monroe’s number will officially be retired in a special halftime ceremony on Saturday, December 1st when the Wizards host the Toronto Raptors. December 1st will also mark the celebration of the 10-year anniversary of the opening of Verizon Center; which hosted its first NBA game on December 2, 1997.
