WASHINGTON, DC – The Nation’s Triathlon® To Benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the only triathlon to take place in Washington , DC , attracts a strong contingent of military competitors. Active duty and veterans alike are lining up to compete in The Nation’s Triathlon®, an Olympic distance triathlon taking place Sunday, September 14, 2008 and featuring a 1.5k swim in the Potomac River, 40k bike course through downtown D.C., and a 10k run along Washington, DC’s monumental corridor.

Capitals will play Columbus , Los Angeles and Nashville twice each in 2008-09
ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals will face the Chicago Blackhawks in their home opener at 7 p.m. on Oct. 11 at Verizon Center , one day after opening the season at Atlanta , the NHL announced today. The league also announced the Capitals will play two games each against Western Conference opponents Columbus, Los Angeles and Nashville during the season.

Washington, D.C- The Washington Mystics will host its third annual gospel night on Sunday, July 27th at 4:00 p.m. when the team plays conference rival, the Connecticut Sun. Immediately after the game, 2008 Stellar award winner for “Praise and Worship CD of the Year” Maurette Brown Clark, will hold a concert for the fans attending the game.
