Attendance for the Sports Career Day has grown from 750 students in the first year to over 4,000 students scheduled to attend this year.  The majority of the students in attendance are from local DECA and FBLA groups.  Past speakers at the event include Wizards Head Coach Eddie Jordan, Wizards Radio Broadcaster Dave Johnson, and Wizards Television Broadcasters Phil Chenier and Steve Buckhantz.

DECA’s objective is to support the development of marketing and management skills in career areas such as hospitality, finance, sales and service, business administration and entrepreneurship. Future Business Leaders of America is a nonprofit education association with a quarter million students preparing for careers in business and business-related fields.
