WIZARDS HEAD COACH EDDIE JORDAN

On today’s practice:
We did some good things.  We practiced for about an hour and ten minutes, and we were able to work on some offensive sets, shooting, and some technique.  The good thing is that it’s only Monday, so the guys have some time to get healthy.”

On starting Nick Young on Wednesday:
“I want to give Nick (Young) another chance to stay out of foul trouble and defend properly.  Roger (Mason Jr.) is in a position where we know he is successful (coming off the bench).  He could be successful as a starter, but we are going with what is working.”

On Brendan Haywood:
“He is putting a lot of work into his game and is playing with a lot of passion – and Phil Hubbard and Randy Ayers are doing a great job of communicating with Brendan and letting him know what we want from him.”

 WIZARDS GUARD ROGER MASON JR.

On his role off the bench:
“I am trying to carve out a niche and help this team win any way I can.  It isn’t easy to come off the bench as a shooter, but you have to stay aggressive and be focused.” On today’s practice:“The coaches were very creative and made it fun.  We were able to get some quality work in.”

On the Chicago Bulls:
“They are struggling right now, but they are a good team.  They are hungry and they always play us well.”

WIZARDS GUARD NICK YOUNG

On his first start:
“It felt good.  It brought back some old memories.  I just need to stay out of foul trouble.”
