The high school basketball season is in full swing with holiday tournaments abound. If you are a rabid fan of the prep game, here is an early look at some of the top players in the nation for the upcoming 2008-2009 class.

* One of the best offensive players in the country off the dribble
4. JRue Holiday SG - Los Angeles, CA 6-3 verbal to UCLA
* Very smooth and efficient offensive game.
5. BJ Mullens C - Canal Winchester, OH 7-0 verbal to Ohio St
* Versatile big man who can shoot and rebound
6. Samardo Samuels PF- Newark, NJ 6-9 undecided
* dominant inside presense
7. Demar DeRozan SG - Compton, CA 6-5 verbal to USC
* very athletic guard with skills
8. Xavier Henry SG - Putnam City, OK 6-6 undecided
* Rangy guard who can shoot
9. AL - Farouq Aminu PF - Norcross, GA 6-8 undecided
* An athletic wing player that reminds some
of Josh Howard
10. Delvon Roe SF/PF - St. Edward, OH 6-7 verbal to Michigan State
*Great athlete who finishes around the rim
Class of 2009
It is to mentioned that according to a few scouting analyst a couple of players from the 2009 class are the best in the country.
1. Renardo Sidney PF - Fairfax, CA 6-9 undecided
*Rank as #1 player in the country
on some boards. Think versatility
2. Lance Stephenson SG - New York, NY 6-5 undecided
*Great one of one player. Physically
developed beyond his years.
3. Derrick Favors PF - Atlanta, GA 6-9 undecided
* Great defensive presence in the Dwight
Howard mold.
4. Kenny Boynton PG/SG - Pompano Beach, FL 6-2 undecided
*Great outside shooter that can put up big
numbers.
5. Dexter Strickland PG/SG - Elizabeth, NJ 6-3 undecided
* Developing point guard skills help his
stock
