DCMS Blog: Can the Patriots finish the job?

In a continuing debate on whether the Patriots can finish the job, I see only the Indianapolis Colts as a major roadblock. The Patriots will be in Foxboro in January but don't sleep on the Colts. Peyton Manning and company are the champions until they get knocked out. The Colts are solid on defense this year and safety Bob Sanders at only 5'8" is a beast. Antoine Bethea (Howard U.) is a major player back in the secondary. It's not going to be a cakewalk I can tell you that. Jacksonville is no joke. They pound you with the running game and they're solid on D.
One other thing is coaching. You think AFC coaches didn't see the Philly game? Andy Reid is right up there in the top coaching ranks in the league. His team gave the Patriots all they could handle. Jacksonville and Indianapolis both matchup well with New England and the coaching staffs will look to exploit weaknesses. The key is Belichick. The playoffs belong to the coaches ability to game plan. The chess match will be very interesting.
By the way, on New Years Day, don't forget to watch Illinois take on USC in the Rose Bowl. Three former Dunbar Crimson Tide players (Nate Bussey, Arrelious Benn, and Vontae Davis) will be playing. Dunbar Head Coach Craig Jefferies said his boys are really pumped up to showcase their skills on national TV.
