JAMIE MCGETTIGAN NAMED HEAD WOMEN'S LACROSSE COACH AT HOWARD |

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Jamie McGettigan has been named the head women's lacrosse coach at Howard University, Director of Athletics Dwight Datcher announced today.
A 2007 graduate of Elon University, McGettigan comes to Howard with several years of playing and coaching experience at various levels of competition. She is a seasoned lacrosse player, having played with the Elon women's club lacrosse team for three years. McGettigan has been a member of the Annaplax Women's Lacrosse Club since October 2007 and is a certified personal trainer and fitness technician.
She was the assistant varsity lacrosse coach at Grimsley High School in Greensboro, N.C. in 2006.
"We are excited to bring Jamie McGettigan into the Howard family," said Howard Athletic Directors Dwight Datcher. "She seems very enthusiastic and understanding about the task before her. We expect to see a lot of success with her leadership."
Howard opens its season on Feb. 21 with a road contest at Manhattan College at 2 pm.
