NFL Playoff Disappointments

There's has been a lot going on in sports around town and the nation over the past week or so and I'm way behind schedule posting to the blog this week.  I'm wondering how the Redskins new coaching search is coming along.  I thought Gregg Williams would be a lock but from what I understand they have to go thru the interviewing process before they hire him.  Williams won't run the offense anyway Al Saunders will but hey, we'll have to wait and see, right? The key to the Skins is the development of Campbell.  The late run the Skins made shows how that offense can roll if the quarterback is performing well. The coaching staff has to get Campbell up and running for next season.  Hopefully they won't wait too long because the draft will be here before you know it and we need a dominate wide receiver and another good safety.

I just want to touch on how disappointed I am the Packers didn't come thru.  This is not because I predicted them to advance but Brett Favre seemed more effected by the cold than Eli Manning and the Giants.  In the fourth quarter Favre looked really bad.  He threw balls low and put New York in a position to win the game.  How many times was that kicker going to miss? I just think a Patriots-Packer Super Bowl would be a more compelling draw, one I predict the nation would favor.

Not that I think the G-Men aren't worthy but the Packers would have matched up a lot
better.  Although both teams met three weeks ago, why do I get the feeling the Super Bowl is going to be a rout?  Whatcha think about Tom Brady in 70 degree weather? Are you kidding me?  Belichick has two weeks to prepare, please.

The G-Men are tough on defense, I'll give them that, especially the front four but this is the show baby. Brady loves the big stage.  Brady is becoming the type people are going to love to hate because everything goes right for him.  I mean can he even sweat a little?
Maybe Strahan will dirty him up a little by pushing him to the ground just for the heck of it.

I'm disappointed in the Colts because they blew it.  Coach Dungy didn't coach a good game at all. He totally got away from the running game.  San Diego just seems to have the Colts number.  I really felt the Colts could have beaten New England last week but hey that's life.

With all this being said,  I'm taking New England big.
