Caps and partners to donate 5,000 tickets to military personnel;
first 15,000 fans receive free camouflage hats
ARLINGTON, Va. – The Capitals will host their sixth Salute to the Military Night on Wednesday, Feb. 20, when the team takes on the New York Islanders at Verizon Center . To commemorate Salute to the Military Night, a special evening dedicated to honoring the men and women who are serving our country in the armed forces, the first 15,000 fans at Verizon Center will receive a free camouflage Capitals hat.
“It’s a special honor to play in Washington, D.C., and have the support of so many men and women in the military,” said Capitals right wing and captain Chris Clark, a native of South Windsor, Conn. “This is a game we look forward to every year, when we can pay tribute to them for their dedication and service to our country.”
With the support of corporate partners such as AAI, ATK, ANSER, BAE Systems, Boeing, Citrix, EADS, General Atomics, Perot Systems, SRA, Versar, the Capitals and America Supports You have donated more than 5,000 tickets to military personnel to attend the game. In addition, the various branches of the military and affiliated organizations will have promotional tables on the main concourse where fans can pick up information on the services as well as souvenirs.
