Penn State Hosts No. 12 Hoosiers on March 9 at 2:00 p.m.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; February 26, 2008 – The Nittany Lion basketball team’s final home game of the regular season, against No. 12 Indiana, has been set for Sunday, March 9 in the Bryce Jordan Center.

The contest will tip at 2:00 p.m. and be nationally televised by ESPN. Penn State will be making its sixth appearance of the season on ESPN or ESPN2.

The Nittany Lions (12-14, 4-10) are playing three of their final four games at home, where they are 10-4 this year, to conclude the regular season. Penn State is one half game behind Iowa and Michigan in the Big Ten standings and hosts both teams this week.

The Lions will be looking for their third consecutive conference home victory when the Hawkeyes (12-16, 5-10) visit on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. At halftime, the THON ’08 Linedance will take place on the heels of this past weekend’s record-breaking $6.6 million, 46-hour event for children with cancer. Committee Members and Dancers receive free admission to the game by wearing their Committee or Dancer shirts and entering at Gate A.

Also at halftime, several of the Penn State football award winners from the 2007 season will be recognized.

Penn State faculty and staff can purchase tickets for $5.00 for the Iowa game with a valid Faculty/Staff ID (Sponsored by the Penn State Federal Credit Union).

On Saturday, the Nittany Lions host Michigan (9-18, 5-10) for an 8:00 p.m. tip. The game will be Senior Night, with Penn State’s Geary Claxton (West Haven, Conn,), Brandon Hassell (Farmersville, Ohio) and Mike Walker (Lewisberry) honored before the clash with the Wolverines.

Fans can purchase four tickets for $40 for the Michigan game, which also includes four hot dogs and four sodas.

Following a March 5 game at No. 10/9 Wisconsin, the Nittany Lions will host the No. 12 Hoosiers in the regular season finale for both squads. Indiana is 23-4 overall and 12-2 in the Big Ten, tied with Wisconsin and Purdue for first place in the loss column entering Tuesday’s game with Ohio State. The Hoosiers won the first meeting this season with the Lions, 81-65, on Jan. 20 in Bloomington in Penn State’s first game following the season-ending injury to Claxton.
