UNIVERSITY PARK
, Pa., April 30, 2006 - Penn State standouts Michael Robinson, Calvin Lowry and Alan Zemaitis were selected in the fourth round of the National Football League Draft, Tyler Reed was taken in round six and Ethan Kilmer was drafted in the seventh round.

Robinson, the 2005 Big Ten Player of the Year, was selected by San Francisco with the third pick of the fourth round. A product of Richmond, Va., Robinson led the Nittany Lions to an 11-1 record and the Big Ten and FedEx Orange Bowl titles last year. In San Francisco, Robinson will be reunited with former PSU teammate Anthony Adams, a defensive tackle. They were teammates in 2001 and '02.

Lowry, a first team All-Big Ten selection, was chosen by Tennessee with the fifth pick of the fourth round. From Fayetteville, N.C., Lowry grabbed four interceptions last season. He will be reunited with Titans cornerback Rich Gardner, a former Nittany Lion.

Zemaitis was selected by Tampa Bay with the 25th pick in the fourth round. A native of Rochester, NY, Zemaitis was a first team All-Big Ten selection in 2005, becoming the fifth Nittany Lion to earn all-conference honors three times. The defensive back made 14 interceptions in his career, including six in his final season.

The Chicago Bears selected Reed at No. 200 with a pick they acquired from Seattle in exchange for veteran safety Mike Green. Reed, the 31st pick of the sixth round, joins former Nittany Lions Micheal Haynes, Robbie Gould and John Gilmore in Chicago.

With the first pick in the seventh round, the Cincinnati Bengals drafted Ethan Kilmer at No. 209. A key component of Penn State's 2005 Big Ten and Orange Bowl championship teams, Kilmer made 15 catches for 236 yards and three touchdowns as wide receiver and on special teams recorded 25 tackles, 19 solo, and forced one fumble. Kilmer joins former Lions Kenny Watson and Tony Stewart on the Cincinnati roster.

A consensus 2005 All-American, Hali was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs at No. 20 in the first round of the NFL Draft. He becomes the fourth defensive lineman to be picked in the first round in the last seven years joining Courtney Brown (2000), Jimmy Kennedy and Michael Haynes (2003). He's also the 33rd Nittany Lion to be chosen in the first round of the NFL Draft.

A starter in 33 of 34 games over the past three seasons, Hali capped off his Penn State career with a stellar senior season. He finished first in the Big Ten in sacks (11) and made 65 tackles on the year, 17 of which were for losses. Hali was named Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year and selected to the first-team All-Big Ten squad. He was also a finalist for the Nagurski Trophy, presented to the nation's top defensive player.

In Kansas City, Hali will be reunited with former Penn State running back Larry Johnson, who was a teammate of Hali's in 2002. Johnson was one of four Nittany Lions who were selected in the first round of the 2003 NFL Draft.

Tamba Hali became the 33rd Penn Stater to be chosen in the first round of the NFL Draft, 30 of whom have played for legendary coach Joe Paterno. Robinson and Lowry bring the number of Nittany Lions to be drafted under Paterno to 224. More than 300 of his players have signed NFL contracts.
