WASHINGTON, D.C. - Canisius jumped out to an early lead and Howard was unable to recover, falling by a final score of 22-6 in a women's lacrosse decision Saturday afternoon at Greene Stadium.

The Griffs (5-3) scored the first eight goals of the contest before HU was able to answer with a goal by Sakita Holley at 16:43 in the first half. Alanah Webb scored two of her team-high three goals in the first half for the Lady Bison, who trailed 13-4 at the intermission.

After the break, the Griff attack was not as prolific as in the first 30 minutes as Canisius went on to score nine goals. Howard (1-5) was able to find the back of the net two times with Webb and Candice Bouknight each scoring one goal apiece.

Lauren Walsh paced the Griffs with four goals. Ashley Gray and Carly Quinn added three goals each.

Up next for the Bison is a matchup with in-state rival UMBC on Saturday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m. in Baltimore, Md.
