BUCKLEY MEETS NCAA QUALIFYING STANDARDS AT WAKE FOREST INVITE

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Howard sophomore Landria Buckley met NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships regional qualifying standards in the 100 meter hurdles during competition at the Wake Forest Open on March 21-22.


Buckley finished third overall in a time of 13.6, which easily met the qualifying standard of 13.92 and advances him to Tallahassee, Florida in May.

 

Teammate Alexandria Lemonious took eighth in the same event in 14.16. Buckley went on to finish sixth in the 400m hurdles (1:03.28).

 

Ashley Hodges took home an eighth-place finish in the 800m run (2:12.44) and finished 14th in the 1500m run in 4:44.55. The 4x400m relay squad rounded out the top finishes for Howard after taking sixth in 3:55.02.

 

The men's squad got a pair of top five finishes from Daniel Kinney.  The Michigan native took third in the 400m hurdles (53.44) and fourth in the 110m hurdles in 14.35.

 

Richard Williams had a good outing in the 800m run after crossing the line in 1:54.17 while Christopher Harrison had a top-15 outing in the 400m dash, placing 14th in 48.62.

 

The men's 4x400m relay team finished eighth in 3:16.55 and the 4x100m relay squad brought home another top-10 finish for the Bison after crossing the line in 42.25, good for a ninth-place finish.

 

The Bison return to the track next Friday and Saturday at the Raleigh Relays.
