Hoya Paranoia

I had a feeling Georgetown would stumble early in the tourney this year.  When they lost to Pittsburgh in the Big East finals and managed only 66 points against the University of Maryland Baltimore County, I had concerns.  The Hoyas just haven't been dominant all year despite the talent on that roster.   The problem came to lack of an experienced floor general. Look for Jessie Sapp, with one more year of experience, to have a break out year and become the unquestioned leader of the Hoyas.
JT III didn't do a good coaching job against Davidson either.  I hope with the stable of athletes he's bringing in he can create an offensive system that takes advantage of their talents. The Hoyas didn't run the Princeton offense at all against Davidson and the guards seemed lost and indecisive on offense without Hibbert.

You have a 7'2" center with a five inch height advantage, why not get him the ball?

The Hoyas lived and died this year at the hands of Roy Hibbert.  For them to have had a chance, Hibbert would have to take them there.  The Hoyas played better two years ago when they lost to eventually national champion Florida than they did this year.

Next year No. 1 recruit Greg Monroe enters the stage.  The starting lineup should look like

this.  Greg Monroe, power forward, DaJuan Summers, small forward,  Vernon Macklin, center, Austin Freeman, shooting guard, & Jessie Sapp, point guard.

The Davidson lost was a program changing occurance.  I predict JT III and the young Hoyas will learn from the lost will move forward to greatness.

I'm looking forward to covering the Hoyas in the summer league this year.
