My Self: The Jets' Fan
Written by Jamie Romm

Ah yes, The Romm does have a human side and yes he is a Jets fan.  So Mr. DiIonno it's time for the Jets' fan rebuttal.  I have been a Jets' fan since birth and I'm proud to be one.  Every year I make it out to a game and there is no experience like it.  Thousands of Jets' fans chanting "J E T S Jets Jets Jets!!!!" at the top of our lungs is possibly one of the greatest things to be a part of.  So that's why I felt I need to step up and give a true account about how great it is to be a fan of the J E T S.  Here's a top 10 list for you.

10.  I've been lucky enough to watch almost 20 quarterbacks start in my 21 years of watching the team (I probably only remember a few of them. Ken O'Brien to Bubby Brister to Browning Nagle to Jeff Blake to Boomer Esiason to Neil O'Donnel to Glenn Foley to Ray Lucas to Vinny Testaverde to Chad Pennington to Quincy Carter to Jay Fiedler to Brooks Bollinger I've seen them all.  Heck I've seen punter Tom Tupa take a couple snaps for the Jets.  But don't say it's not entertaining to watch.

9. We had Pete Carroll before he was Pete Carroll.  I'm taking full credit for the USC National Championships, no it wasn't the amazing team they but it was Carroll learning from his mistakes as Jets' coach.

8. The fact that we had a quarterback from Rutgers start for us at one point.  Ray Lucas baby!!

7. Curtis Martin...the guy is a legend and watching him break career records is fun to watch.

6. We had Keyshawn Johnson when he was Keyshawn Johnson.  The guy was awesome.  Watching him as a young, selfish, arrogant playmaker was fun to watch.

5. We had a draft with 4 first round picks a few years ago.  Count them 4!

(Who were they, John Abraham, Shaun Ellis, Chad Pennington and Anthony Becht)

4. The AFC playoff run where we lost to the Steelers.  We didn't even deserve to be in the game in the first place.  The fact that we had a chance to win was a bonus. We made the playoffs pretty much on a coin flip after losing three huge games at the end of the year.  We beat San Diego in the playoffs even though we should have lost on a Nate Kaeding field goal that was missed.  Pennington played the entire playoffs with a torn rotator cuff.  Now that was fun to watch.

3. We had Joe Namath and the guarantee.  That is all any team needs.  That's enough stories for the next 100 years.  Even though I never saw it, it was a glorious moment for the NFL.

2.  We had Joe Namath telling a sideline reporter that he wanted to kiss her.  He is freaking amazing.

1. I attended the greatest Monday Night Football game ever when the Jets came back to beat the Dolphins somehow.  I will always remember the fact that I almost left after we were down by so much but somehow we came back.  It was glorious.

So we can pass on the Leinarts and Cutlers in the draft because you know what, there is always going to be the next Leinart out there in every draft.  If he's good that's good for him, if he stinks then good for him as well.  Anyway we can always draft Brady Quinn with the first pick next year.
