YOUNG NAMED MEAC SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. – Howard sophomore outfielder Courtney Young (Sherwood, Ark.) was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Softball Player of the Week, the league announced today.

Young batted .488 in six games last week with 11 hits in 18 attempts to help the defending tournament champions to a 5-1 finish.  The outfielder recorded two home runs, one double and 13 RBI for the week.  She also added 10 putouts and one assist. 

Howard hosts Coppin State in a three-game MEAC series beginning Saturday at 1 pm.
