Walk With B.Q.Barnes The Miami Heat Game

The Heat were in town and you could not help to think that this was a “give me” game for the Wizards.  The way the Wizards lost last Wednesday to the Milwaukee Buck-a buzzer-beater, again- they needed a win to get back on track.  The Heat was a gift from God.

The Wizards clinched a playoff spot after the win over the Heat, 109-95.  I thought the guys would be jumping and excited.  To my surprise, the Wizards’ locker room was quiet and the Heat’s locker room was a little up beat.  The Heat knew their season was over and the players are probably playing for a spot for next season or performing for another.  I like the Heat’s attitude because regardless of what happens, they are playing on a NBA team.

The Wizards were quiet because they felt they should have clinched a long time ago.  It was a good mood, don’t get me wrong, but the expectations for them are high.  Nick Young and Dominic McGuire were chillin’ and excited.  “ Man, to play in the playoffs in your first year is great,” said McGuire and Young agreed and said,” I can’t wait”.

That is a normal reaction for rookies, but the veterans were calm.  The only thing now for the Wizards is to get a good seed.
