Washington, D.C. – Georgetown University junior football player David Fajgenbaum (Raleigh, N.C./Ravenscroft) was featured in today’s edition of the Raleigh News & Observor, his hometown newspaper in North Carolina.
Fajgenbaum, who was the recipient of several community service awards from Georgetown as a result of the work he has done with a program he founded. The story, “Son fulfills last promise,” by Kinea White Epps focuses on the work the Hoya quarterback has done with the Students of AMF Support Network (www.studentsofamf.org). The moniker AMF – which stands for Students of Ailing Mothers and Fathers – is in honor of his mother, Anne Marie, who passed away from brain cancer in October 2004. The goal of the Students of AMF Support Network (www.studentsofamf.org) is to help students to cope with the psychological, spiritual, social, and academic difficulties associated with having a sick loved one through service, support, and mentoring.
