The NBA playoffs are here and so are the proms. Both the NBA playoffs and the proms have the same dilemma-who will be the “winning” choice?
The eight teams in the western conference are like eight people to choose from.Six of them are stacked, the Lakers, Jazz, Spurs, Hornets, Suns, and Mavericks, hard to pick. The other two, the Rockets and the Nuggets, are not a sure thing. The Rockets need Yao Ming down the stretch because of his size and abilities. The Nuggets have all the goods, but refuse to play defense on a consistent basis. If the Nuggets commit to the defensive end like the offensive end, watch out.The Nuggets and Rockets are like two people that if they change their appearance a little bit and step their game up they will be a knock out, too,but don’t bet on it.
The eastern conference eight choices are easier. There are only two choices that are stacked, the Pistons and Celtics. The other six, the Wizards, Cavaliers, Sixers, Hawks, Magic, and Raptors, are good teams, but need some work. The Wizards are the team, out of the six choices, with the least work.In fact, the Wizards have the most talent and can hold there own against the Pistons and Celtics. The question for the Wizards is-can they stay health throughout the playoffs? The bottom line is there are eight choices.Six people are going to try and get an expensive makeover to improve their appearance. No matter what they accomplish, the Pistons and Celtics will still look better and therefore are the better choices.
After picking through the sixteen choices for the big date, it comes down to two options, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics. The Celtics would be the choice because they dominated the west this season, 25-5.Although the regular season is meaningless now, most of the time the dominant team throughout a season normally wins. That’s the Celtics.By the time the Lakers reach the Finals, the best player in the league, Kobe Bryant, will be physically tired after battling through the western conference.
The prom and the NBA playoffs are always a memorable time of the year.Let’s make this prom/NBA playoffs season a safe and exciting one.
