MEAC Announces All Academic Team; Howard Registers Second Highest Total |

Howard University placed 70 student athletes in the 2008 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Commissioner’s All-Academic team. It marked the first time in eight years that Howard did have the highest number of representatives.
The team honors athletes who compete in MEAC-sponsored sports, including sophomores to seniors, with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.
Howard finished second to Delaware State, which registered 82 honorees and ahead of North Carolina A&T (56) and Hampton University (54), who finished third and fourth, respectively.
Howard did have the most women student athletes (44) named to the team. Lacrosse posted the highest total of honorees named on the women’s side with 9. Soccer, softball and track and field each had six student athletes named to the team.
On the men’s side, football posted the highest overall total with 14 while soccer and track and field each had 4.
