It’s not too late for the Wizards, but it’s time to play ball. It’s time to stop the futile attempt to beat up G Lebron James and get back to playing team defense, patience and executing the offense. This Wizards team is too talented to lose to the Cavaliers.
Game one was the Wizards best game. After all the battling and pushing, going scoreless for just under 8 minutes in the 4th quarter killed their chance to win.
Game two was a mental melt down.G Lebron James over powered the Wizards, especially the guards, all night. The Wizards thought if they could hit James hard enough, he would not drive to the hoop.C Brendan Haywood took this to heart and that took him out of the game (he was ejected in the 3rd quarter).Since that tactic didn’t work, it disrupted the Wizards, which cause them to watch James in frustration. The team began taking bad shots and played with no confidence. The Cavaliers’ fans got under the skin of one of the best free-throw shooting teams.Self-proclaimed superstar G Gilbert Arenas is not 100 percent and suffered a strained right wrist at the end of game one.
The Wizards need to get back to playing team ball. Before the playoffs began, the Wizards were not talking or blogging. G Deshawn Stevenson, basically took a knife to a gun fight by talking trash about Lebron James.Stevenson had a good regular season against James, but when the playoffs start, superstars take their games to another level.Stevenson will learn from this experience.G Gilbert Arenas is an excellent player and is one of the best when he is healthy.Arenas is one of the leaders on this team and as a leader, he must recognize the team’s situation and allow the team to flow through all-stars Forwards Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison. If not, the Wizards will lose their 9th and 10th straight playoff games to the Cavaliers.
