VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. - Howard freshman Emily Johnson (Jacksonville, Fla.) was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Softball Rookie of the Week, the league announced today.
Johnson batted .750 (6-for-9) for the week with one triple, one double and three RBI. Johnson recorded two perfect performances at the plate (5-for-5) in a doubleheader against Morgan State. She also added two walks in addition to two putouts and two assists.
