DC Metro Sports - HOWARD CELEBRATES YEAR OF ACHIEVEMENTS AT ANNUAL ALL-SPORTS AWARDS BANQUET

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Howard Athletics Department gathered in the Blackburn Ballroom on April 28 for the annual All-Sports Awards Banquet to celebrate the year's achievements on the courts and fields, in the classroom and in the community. Director of Athletics Dwight Datcher, department administrators and university staff, along with student-athletes and coaches from all the Bison teams, came together to pay tribute to the year's accomplishments.

Master of Ceremony Tommy Burns got the night started by addressing the crowd of more than 200, outlining the impressive successes of Howard this year, including the department's commitment to academics and student development.

Team award presentations followed the athletic highlights from the 2007-08 year, as squads named their most valuable players. Burns and the head coaches announced the award winners from the stage at the Blackburn Ballroom.
