GUTIERREZ AND CORDOVA NAMED TO MEAC SOFTBALL ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM |

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Following the conclusion of the MEAC softball tournament Saturday, the conference announced that Brianne Gutierrez (Englewood, Colo.) and Kristina Cordova (Fresno, Calif.) had been named to the All-Tournament team.
Gutierrez had a strong finish to her Bison career in the tournament. She hit .786 in the tournament, going 11-for-14. She also had two RBI and three runs scored. Her big blow was a walk-off double against tournament champions Delaware State in the bottom of the first on Friday.
Cordova went 3-for-8 with five RBI in the two Bison victories. In the bottom of the sixth inning of the quarterfinal game against Florida A&M Thursday, Cordova plated the game-winning runs and had another key single and sacrifice fly earlier in the contest.
