Returning Full-Time Students Must Pre-Register for Ticket Sale by Friday, May 30 UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., May 26, 2008 – All returning full-time Penn State students who wish to purchase a 2008 season football ticket are required to pre-register for the sale this week. Pre-registration begins at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27 and will end on at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30. Full instructions to complete the pre-registration process were sent via e-mail to all returning students' official Penn State email address during the period of May 15-23. Returning students who do not pre-register will not be eligible to participate in the sale. The annual sale of student season tickets for the upcoming football season will take place in mid-June, but students were made aware in an April 24 e-mail of several new modifications to the ticket purchasing process. Beginning his 43rd season as head coach, Joe Paterno's squad will face five teams in Beaver Stadium this fall that played in a bowl game last season. Penn State has won 31 of its last 40 games, tied for the eighth-best record in the nation over that span. The Nittany Lions return 16 starters (8 offense, 6 defense, 2 specialists) from last year's 9-4 squad that defeated Texas A&M in the Valero Alamo Bowl. The Lions were ranked No. 25 in the final USA Today Coaches poll, earning their 33rd Top 25 finish under Paterno.
